Development Manager - financial
We are seeking development manager with Visual C++ OOD OOP skills and multi-threading applications development experience to take control of streaming financial market data application. Lead, manage, architect, design and code implementation of connections to financial market data providers (APIs, subscriptions) via Financial Inter eXchange (FIX) protocol, multicasting those data feeds.
Take an existing software development department and improve it, manage it, lead it, as well as build it bigger, hire and fire and motivate team members, but also stay close to, and at some points, hands on the code when needed. Not so high level that cannot understand technology or code enough, to know when to accept or reject senior developer’s or architect’s input. Our client, provides an attractive work environment, and turnover is low because technical team members want to stay.
Role to lead and manage a financial market data team (Developers coding C++, SQL Server), streaming market data into the database storage and into backend components for real-time analysis; using TCP/IP connections, multicasting of financial data. Connect to data feeds or API subscriptions, reading data from the exchanges, ECNs, stock data, futures data, pricing data, parsing that data, normalizing it and pushing/streaming it. Planning for new capacities, and new capacities for market data is important; merging into new architecture; manage ongoing development, maintenance, until the new architecture is built. Development Teams are using Agile and Scrum.
Required Skills:
Development management or development leadership, Visual C++ or C (or both preferred), multi-threading,
Desired Skills: multicasing, FIX protocol, connecting to market data streams, exchanges, ECNs, data feeds.
Employment Type: Regular Full-Time
Salary Range: $130,000 to $160,000 per year
